Wharekauri Kaimoana

Wharekauri is an 18-year-old Kaitono (Cadet) at Tātau Tātau Horticulture – Haumako, currently in his third year of a horticulture cadetship based in Wairoa. Known for his initiative and hands-on leadership, he plays an active role in pest and disease management, machinery operations, and community engagement. Wharekauri has earned his Level 2 NZ Certificate in Primary Industry Skills and Infrastructure, and is currently completing Level 3 in Fruit Production. A passionate learner and emerging leader, he’s involved in school expos, Plant & Food Research events, and team training. Dedicated to growing his skills and career, Wharekauri is driven by the goal of taking on future leadership roles in the sector.
