Larissa Wooding-Ngata

Larissa started her horticulture career at the age of 18 as a broccoli planter at LeaderBrand, and her passion for the industry has only grown from there. Over the years, she has embraced numerous opportunities to learn and gain hands-on experience. By the age of 23, Larissa had stepped into a supervisory role, which led her into orchard work, where she contributed to the development of over 45 hectares of apples. Her confidence and motivation have continued to grow, and this year she has chosen to compete in the Young Grower competition again—representing both her company and women in the industry.
Outside of work, Larissa is an active member of her local community. She serves on the committee for the OBM Rugby and Netball Club and plays for their premier netball team. When she’s not on the court or at mahi, she enjoys spending time at home, which she purchased in 2023 with her partner and their four beloved pets—two dogs and two cats.
